With the increasingly stable economic market and favorable government support, China's machine tool industry has achieved considerable development, and the domestic consumer demand for abrasives has continued to increase. China has become the world's largest abrasive market. It is expected that by 2015, China's share of the global total abrasive demand will exceed 1/3.
According to the latest research report "World Abrasive Market to 2015" released by the US market research organization ReportsnReports, the annual growth rate of global abrasive market demand is expected to be 6.1%, and by 2015 it will reach 44.7 billion US dollars. The growing demand for consumer goods such as automobiles, electrical appliances, and electronic products, as well as the acceleration of fixed asset investment, will promote and support the market sales of abrasive products. China, India, Thailand and other countries will become the countries with the fastest sales growth. During the period of 2005-2010, China has surpassed the United States to become the world's largest abrasive market. It is estimated that by 2015, China's share of the global total abrasive demand will exceed 1/3.
The report predicts that driven by the rapid growth of integrated circuit (especially photovoltaic cells) production, the demand for loose granules and powders will grow fastest among all non-metallic abrasive types. As the demand for steel products in developing countries continues to grow, metal abrasives used in basic metal production and some metal processing processes are expected to become the fastest growing category of all abrasive products. Coated abrasives for a variety of processes, including automotive, aerospace, and machinery manufacturing, will grow in tandem with the entire manufacturing market. Superhard abrasives, which are usually used in bonded form, are rapidly gaining manufacturers' favor due to their long life and high performance.
Due to the increase in automobile production and the strong growth of the global aviation manufacturing industry, by 2015, the demand for abrasives in the transportation equipment market will have the strongest growth. Similarly, the electrical equipment and electronics manufacturing market is expected to grow faster than average.
